Kawakib Al-Jonub Company for Contracting and General Trading and General Services Ltd. (KJC) was established in 2014 in Basra, Iraq — the heart of the country's oil-producing region. Founded by industry professionals with deep expertise in oil & gas procurement and contracting, KJC was built to address the critical supply chain gaps facing Iraq's rapidly expanding energy sector.
Over the past decade, we have evolved from a regional trading company into a fully integrated procurement, logistics, construction, and contracting partner serving international oil companies (IOCs), national oil companies (NOCs), and Tier-1 EPC contractors. Our clients include Hyundai E&C, CEPCC, Gusan, Petronas, EBS, PetroChina, Kuwait Energy, ENI, JGC, PWT, Lukoil, CNPC, and Pertamina — operating across Iraq's southern oil fields including Rumaila, West Qurna, Zubair, Al-Garaf, and Block 9.

Company Founded
Kawakib Al-Jonub Company established in Basra, Iraq, with a vision to serve the oil & gas sector through general trading and industrial services.
First Contract with Hyundai E&C
Awarded our first major contract with Hyundai Engineering & Construction at the Karbala Refinery Project, providing site servicing, rental equipment, heavy machinery, and light vehicle support.
Expansion into Basra FCC Project
Partnered with Hyundai E&C on the Basra FCC Project for comprehensive site services, and collaborated with Hyundai subcontractor Gusan Construction on civil works — a partnership that continued through 2024.
Kuwait Energy — Block 9 CPF Construction
Awarded a subcontract with Kuwait Energy Company for the Central Processing Facility (CPF) construction at Block 9 oil field, marking our entry into major EPC construction projects.
Camp Supermarket Management — FCC Project
Awarded a one-year contract to manage the supermarket inside the JGC & Hyundai camp at the FCC Project, expanding our capabilities into service provision and catering operations.
PWT — Al Samawah Water Project ($10M)
Secured our largest contract to date with German company PWT for the construction of booster stations at the Al Samawah Water Treatment Plant — a landmark $10 million USD project demonstrating our capacity for large-scale infrastructure delivery.
CPECC — Rumaila GPP & MQ Projects
Awarded a major supply contract with CPECC at the Rumaila oil field for the GPP and MQ projects, serving as the main supplier for site preparation including earthwork, reinforcement, and concrete supply.
